For anyone who is interested in decision making, you guys should definitely check out Game Theory. This is the most basic and interesting theory.I will give a brief introduction here and will try to post about that theory later.
So, Game Theory, as the name implies , is the theory about game. In this matter, game does not limit to just video game or some sport game. The meaning behind it goes much wider. It includes every field and aspect where people are competing each other in order to gain something, ranging from personal issue like two friends are fighting for a girl to US waging a War on Iraq to get the oil. Anyway, the thing is as long as there's a reward and at least two person are competing for it , we can apply the Game theory. So what I'm gonna say next is one of the basic of Game Theory. Before I start explaining about the theory, I should emphasize right from the start that I give no presumption that the outcome of a game will be good for the players. However, it will tell you what will the best course of action you should take based on your opponent best strategy. This theory is not about gaining the most out of the system. It's about getting the most out of the system based on other people best action or interest. You can mainly use as a system that guides individual behavior.
So what do you have to do to beat your opponent? Well, you need to know what he is thinking and what action does he gonna take next. From that information, you try to make a strategy that will serve in your best interest. You need to know that the essence of a game of strategy is the interdependence of the player's decisions and they arise in two ways.
1.Sequential
2.Simultaneous.
Sequential- An example for the sequential strategy is playing a chess. You can see your opponent moves and from that you will decide what to do next. Same goes for your opponent. So, every move that you or your opponent make is build on other people action. In words, it will be like this , " I do this because you did that and you did that because I did this."
Simultaneous-This is more complex one. It includes more rational thinking and logical guessing because you will have no information about the action of your opponent. You may take the first move or both of you will take make a move at the same time. It's like hide and seek. The whole game, the hider and seeker has been moving around and trying their best to catch or not to get caught.
